COVID-19 – Library Update: March 20 2020

Masterton District Library is open

Masterton District Council wants to reassure our customers that we are taking a sensible and vigilant approach to the continuing situation regarding the COVID-19 virus.

We are continuing to align our practices with guidance from the Ministry of Health.

But, we need your help – if you are feeling unwell or have been asked to self-isolate we’d love to talk to you over the phone, rather than seeing you face-to-face. Sharing is NOT caring in this situation!

If you have recently arrived in New Zealand from any country except those listed in Category 2 on the Ministry of Health website (excluding airport transit), have been in close contact with someone confirmed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, or been asked to self-isolate, please stay home and contact us about how we can assist you with reading materials during this difficult time.

We are working hard to plan for the possibility of COVID-19 coming to Wairarapa and are taking measures to ensure we can still provide services to our community. These include:

  • Cleaning high-use surfaces hourly, throughout the library.
  • Hand sanitiser is available for our customers.
  • All toys have been removed from the children’s areas.

You can accessing Masterton District Library from home: Check out our online resources and contact us by phone (06) 370 6253,  website, social media or email us at [email protected]

Please keep an eye on our events page for updates in programming.
