Highlights at the Library

Masterton Library runs a fabulous Summer Reading Programme, to keep you entertained over the long summer break.

What is the Summer Reading Programme?

Children register at the Masterton District Library for this free incentive based reading programme which runs for 6 weeks during the summer. They read books for enjoyment (this is not a competition). They then ‘report-in’ to their Library for a one-on-one session with their Librarians. The children receive a sticker each time they complete a review, and at the end of the programme there is a finale where they are presented with a certificate and book to keep. The aim of the programme is to make reading fun!

The programme is available at Masterton Library, through the sponsorship of the Eastern and Central Community Trust.

The ECREAD'N Eastern and Central Reading Encouragement and Development Network produces the programme and Masterton Library is one of the 23 Eastern and Central Region libraries delivering the programme.

The Library has book collections and reading support information to cater for children taking part in the programme.
