Pre-School Programmes
Rainbow Kids
- A 45 - 60 minute session for pre-schoolers with story,
rhyme, music and a craft activity, is designed to promote
library awareness and books and to develop pre reading skills.
Rainbow Kids is on Wednesdays, during the school term, at
10.30am in the children's section of the library. Suitable
for children from the time they are able to listen to short
stories until they start school. The sessions are theme
based and include visits from community groups, an annual
picnic in the park, older persons day and others. All welcome
for learning experiences that are lots of fun.

Kohanga Reo Programmes
- Designed to promote story and, library and book awareness
these programmes are organised with the local Kohanga Reo.
The theme based programmes are developed and delivered by
the Takawaenga Frances Reiri-Smith and include story, Waiata
and craft to promote Te Reo and Maori culture. Available
each Thursday morning during the school term the sessions
run for one hour.
